Facilities Manager

Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services.

Our company is looking for a Facilities Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Attending scheduled Committee meetings and Annual General Meetings;
  • Maintaining up to date documentation and compliance;
  • Ensuring all building procedures are maintained;
  • Effective management of all contractors on site including performance and ensuring work is carried out to a high standard;
  • Assist the site Facilities management team with general Facilities Management work;
  • Support and manage Site Managers and team members;
  • Responsible for the enforcement and compliance with the operations and maintenance agreement;
  • People Management – ensuring training and development is completed, inductions SWMS etc;
  • Assisting with the setup of new contracts;
  • Perform and document site inspections;
  • Scope minor works, seek quotations from panel of contractors and oversee minor works;
  • Environmental Sustainability;
  • Quality Improvement;
  • OH&S – actively driving a Zero Harm culture;
  • Minor Fit outs & Project Management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to build trusted relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Facilities, Engineering or Building Management role, in a commercial environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, and technical manuals;
  • Demonstrated ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations;
  • Identification of customer needs and challenges;
  • Managerial and leadership skills;
  • Experience of 5 years or more in supervisory positions in the Cleaning Industry or similar;
  • Past experience in operating or maintaining aero derivative gas turbines would be an asset;
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, and people skills;
  • Understanding of the cleaning specifications relevant to the worksite;
  • A working knowledge of chemistry as it relates to plant operations as well as environmental and water treatment programs and statutory regulations;
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to be organised and be able to meet deadlines;
  • A technical background in mechanical, electrical or control systems. A tertiary qualification in one of these disciplines would be an advantage;
  • Drivers licence and own transport.
