Maintenance Planner

Maintenance Planner schedules maintenance programs and processes for an assigned plant or production facility to minimize impact on production. Evaluates the need for replacement parts and places orders. Being a Maintenance Planner schedules maintenance staff. Plans for interruptions in work and develops backup plans. Additionally, Maintenance Planner may require a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a Plant Manager. Maintenance Planner is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. To be a Maintenance Planner typically requires 7+ years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Updating and Maintaining Classified Plant register;
  • A Weekly Schedule that is laid out by day and all interactions are accounted for and Scheduled Loading is optimised;
  • Identifying opportunities for standardisation across sites;
  • Sequencing work allowing for optimisation of schedules;
  • Identifying errors in Master Data;
  • Making sure work orders are planned, materials and tools are available at the execution date.

Requirements:

  • Good computer skills and experience with maintenance planning systems;
  • Minimum 3 years maintenance planning experience;
  • Clear understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodology;
  • Trades background (desirable);
  • Oracle or SAP experience;
  • Transactional Master Data capability to create Plans, Items and Task lists directly into SAP;
  • Relevant Mining Industry experience;
  • Possess relevant Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications;
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills;
  • Experience in detailed scoping and maintenance planning for multi-disciplined workgroups operating in a Fixed Plant and / or Marine environment;
  • Good communication and organisational skills;
  • Demonstrated competence with SAP, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel;
  • Self-reliant contributor with significant experience in the Maintenance / Work Management Planning area;
  • Relevant trades certificate with 3-5 years experience as an Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Planner in a Fixed Plant environment;
  • Current drivers licence.
