Our company is looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team.


  • Meet with clients to discuss requirements and negotiate throughout the tender process;
  • Keep an up to date list of preferred suppliers and costings;
  • Maintain thorough and carefully organised digital records within job folders;
  • Writing reports;
  • Investigating the cause of loss or damage;
  • Inspecting building damage to domestic insured properties;
  • Learn the strategies and processes of the Estimating function;
  • Manage bid pricing from all vendors;
  • Be involved with the preparation of tenders;
  • Performing take off and the estimation of their own labour and expenses;
  • Attend site, pre-contract and post-contract meetings;
  • Prepare cost analysis;
  • Operate their estimation software to prepare construction estimates;
  • Estimating the cost of repair;
  • Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products.


  • Attention to detail;
  • Strong understanding of construction processes;
  • Able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates;
  • Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines;
  • Has strong negotiation/communications skills (both written and verbal);
  • Previous experience in administration or contracts administration in the industry is desirable;
  • 2 years+ experience in estimating role within construction industry;
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • great communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities;
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel;
  • A real desire to learn and to want a long-term career in estimating;
  • Willingness to learn and follow instruction;
  • A good understanding of the estimation process;
