Our company is looking for a Estimator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Tender Documents;
- Rating of all trades, labour and materials;
- Preparation of builders BOQs and accurate take offs;
- Preparing and issuing purchase orders;
- Site visits/meetings with clients;
- Assisting with scheduling and planning;
- Prepare and submit tender documents;
- Interpret client scopes, appreciate client’s underlying drivers and plan commercially viable project solutions;
- Coordinating project orders and delivering on spec, on time and on budget;
- Preparing tender take-offs;
- Approving various purchase orders on projects you estimate to ensure cost control is managed throughout the project;
- Continually striving to improve our costing models and how we do business;
- Work closely with our Senior Managers to coordinate tender expectations;
- Assessment of technical plans to determine project scope;
- Detailed rates build-up (labour, equipment, maintenance, unit, fixed price and schedule of rates).
Requirements:
- Experience with single & double storey homes;
- Effective time management;
- A team player who can also work individually;
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings;
- Flexibility, initiative and a can-do attitude;
- Ability to present tender documentation accurately;
- Thorough understanding of building codes and different construction methods;
- Ability to take the lead on tenders <$30M, and be involved in large scale underground mining projects in the range of $500M;
- Experience in the retail and office fit out sector;
- Strong background in estimation, commercials and bid management;
- Able to meet demanding deadlines;
- Self-motivated with good time management skills;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and proven experience in developing and maintaining highly technical Excel based tools;
- Work and communicate as part of a team;
- Background in Engineering or Mechanical related field would be highly advantageous.
