Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Hydraulic repairs and service;
- Service of heavy and light vehicles;
- Monday to Friday role with optional Saturdays if desired;
- Working on pneumatic breaking systems;
- Scheduled service and maintenance of a wide variety of customers fleet;
- General workshop duties;
- Field service work for on-site servicing and breakdowns;
- Major repairs and rebuilds including; – engines, clutch, brakes, driveline and other major components;
- Service and Scheduled maintenance of client’s fleet of heavy commercial trucks.
Requirements:
- Ability to work on truck and trailers, braking systems, clutches, suspensions etc;
- Highly motivated and autonomous worker with a high regard for safety;
- 2 -3 years post trade experience working on heavy commercial vehicles in a workshop environment;
- 5 years post trade experience working on heavy diesel equipment including Japanese and American Trucks (preferred);
- Experience performing scheduled maintenance on heavy road transport;
- Experience with waste vehicles;
- Drivers Licence;
- HR Drivers Licence;
- The ability to provide either a birth certificate or passport;
- Trade Qualification;
- Self-motivated and autonomous mechanic looking to develop their career;
- Reliable transport;
- Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic;
- Ability to work without supervision;
- Exposure to similar equipment will be very highly regarded.
