Our company is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Repairing and maintaining hydraulic components of diesel engines;
- Routine service and maintenance for a variety of equipment;
- Hydraulic repairs and service;
- Field service work during the call-out roster;
- Communicate effectively with drivers and plant operators;
- Working with customers;
- Carry out repairs as directed and parts change-outs;
- Provide customer service to clients on fault issues;
- Fault finding & troubleshooting;
- Attend fleet roadside breakdowns;
- Heavy repairs on a variety of trucks;
- Fill out job cards & service sheets;
- Preventative maintenance & inspections;
- Engine & gearbox reconditioning;
- the paper trail on servicing, maintenance and repairs.
Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours;
- A Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology /Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or relevant;
- Heavy combination truck license;
- Auto electrical experience;
- Drivers License;
- 5 years + experience in heavy diesel mechanic industry;
- Experience in quoting and estimating jobs;
- Strong mechanical aptitude;
- The ability to work within scheduled servicing time frames;
- Ability to work safely in a regulated environment;
- The ability to work un supervised;
- Experience working with Heavy-Duty Diesel Equipment;
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a small team with a busy workload;
- Maintain a clean and well organised work;
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in relevant field.
