Our company is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and maintaining hydraulic components of diesel engines;
  • Routine service and maintenance for a variety of equipment;
  • Hydraulic repairs and service;
  • Field service work during the call-out roster;
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and plant operators;
  • Working with customers;
  • Carry out repairs as directed and parts change-outs;
  • Provide customer service to clients on fault issues;
  • Fault finding & troubleshooting;
  • Attend fleet roadside breakdowns;
  • Heavy repairs on a variety of trucks;
  • Fill out job cards & service sheets;
  • Preventative maintenance & inspections;
  • Engine & gearbox reconditioning;
  • the paper trail on servicing, maintenance and repairs.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours;
  • A Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology /Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or relevant;
  • Heavy combination truck license;
  • Auto electrical experience;
  • Drivers License;
  • 5 years + experience in heavy diesel mechanic industry;
  • Experience in quoting and estimating jobs;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude;
  • The ability to work within scheduled servicing time frames;
  • Ability to work safely in a regulated environment;
  • The ability to work un supervised;
  • Experience working with Heavy-Duty Diesel Equipment;
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a small team with a busy workload;
  • Maintain a clean and well organised work;
  • Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in relevant field.
