Our company is looking for a Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • the paper trail on servicing, maintenance and repairs;
  • Order spares on a need to have bases and maintain stocks at a minimum level;
  • Managing tool register and maintenance and repair of tools and equipment;
  • Electrical testing and tagging of tools and equipment;
  • Complete paperwork for each vehicle in accordance with the HSEQ Management System;
  • Attend fleet roadside breakdowns;
  • Ensure equipment is stored in the correct areas by communicating with staff returning or removing items from the warehouse;
  • Testing of new and repaired parts within vehicles, machinery, and plant for proper performance;
  • Keeping workspace clean and tidy including the warehouse;
  • Carry out repairs as directed and parts change-outs;
  • Occasionally assisting storeman (duties including receiving and storing of deliveries from suppliers, etc.);
  • Participate and contribute in the Safety Workgroup;
  • Maintenance of company vehicles and mechanical aids;
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and plant operators;
  • Ensure recycling of oils/parts is maintained and communicated to the HSEQ Manager when removed off site.

Requirements:

  • Good problem-solving skills;
  • Experience working with Heavy-Duty Diesel Equipment;
  • Ability to work safely in a regulated environment;
  • Mechanical Trade Certification;
  • Experience in heavy industry transport or mining environment;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
