Metal Fabricator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Metal Fabricator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Detect and report on defective materials and/or questionable conditions;
- Be able to work with minimal supervision, once trained, and follow instructions;
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines and equipment as required;
- Solid experience with MIG/TIG welding of Aluminium, Mild Steel and Stainless Steel;
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and assembly instructions;
- Wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules at all times;
- Take pride in your work and have a high level of attention to detail;
- Metal finishing using machinery and/or hand tools;
- Welding of any compromised parts for full and productive function;
- Fabrication of metal parts for repair or build to existing furnace;
- Inspection of Plant and Equipment for repair and maintenance requirements;
- Cutting and shaping of metal sheeting and meshing;
- Finishing metal systems and smoothing welded areas in preparation for other tasks;
- Adhere brackets to meshing by welding;
- Join sheeting and metal components for installation using welding procedures.
Requirements:
- Diagnose equipment problems and make modifications as needed;
- Metal finishing using machinery and/or hand tools;
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and assembly instructions;
- Take pride in your work and have a high level of attention to detail;
- Wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules at all times;
- Be willing to be trained in additional operations, such as CNC Laser Cutting and CNC Press Brakes, to further develop your skill set;
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to WHS standards, policies, procedures and regulations;
