Mechanical Fitter Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, maintain & repair Hedweld products;
- Demonstrate an ability to work within reasonable time constraints;
- Planning and implementation of various maintenance projects;
- Complete preventative maintenance and reactive worksheets from Maintenance Scheduling Program;
- Conduct work in accordance with approved maintenance and repair instructions and workshop procedures;
- Equipment pre-start inspections;
- Ensure accuracy with all survey, inspection and rebuild documentation associated with work undertaken;
- Provide support to customers by repairing equipment and troubleshoot problems as they arise;
- Responsible for all tools and ensure no tools are left in production areas;
- Wear components change out;
- Hydraulic system maintenance, fault finding, replacing hydraulic hoses, valve block re-seals;
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts;
- Repair of production machinery parts, replacement of production machinery parts;
- Maintain safe work practices;
- Provide customers with speciality lubricant products, service & support on heavy-duty plant equipment.
Requirements:
- Must have the ability to pass a drug and alcohol screen prior to commencing;
- White card;
- Relevant Australian Trade Qualification;
- Previous industry experience and knowledge;
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter is essential along with substantial post trade experience;
- Working at Heights Accreditation;
- Ideally have experience within an FMCG environment or as an industrial Fitter;
- Demonstrated knowledge of plant processes;
- Valid WA Drivers Licence;
- Previous experience in a site based environment is essential;
- Restricted Electrical Licence would be highly regarded;
- Must have a strong safety focus and adhere to company OH&S procedures;
- Working knowledge of a CMMS (MEX/SAP);
- Forklift and confined space licences would be advantageous;
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
