Our company is looking for a horticultural technical officer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Intermediate electrical/electronic skills (Control system & PLC Programming Languages);
- Excellent communication and computer skills;
- Undertake produce quality checking during harvest, provide reports to management and feedback and training to workers as required;
- Conduct soil monitoring and testing and assist the Horticultural Technologist to provide reporting and recommendations to the Farming Operations team;
- Understand and work towards production targets within allocated budget;
- Organise and perform chemical, weed and pest control programs;
- Able to solve problems related to plant health (pest, disease and disorders);
- Assist with providing support in with documentation and reporting where required;
- Multiple language skills;
- Conduct inspections and measurements of plants growth and health and provide reports to Farming Operations team;
- Understand all aspects of farm operation;
- Prepare and keep records for each farm program.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Horticulture;
- Multiple language skills;
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds;
- Qualification in Chemical Handling;
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (preferred but not essential);
- Understand all aspects of farm operation;
- Prepare and keep records for each farm program;
- Tertiary qualifications in Diploma of Horticulture or above;
- Ability to oversee, coordinate and liaise with a large multicultural workforce;
- Ability to speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese;
- Minimum 18 months experience on farm;
- Able to solve problems related to plant health (pest, disease and disorders);
- Understand and work towards production targets within allocated budget;
