IGS Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) provides vibrant After School Care (3pm to 6pm) and Vacation Care (8am to 6pm) programs for IGS students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Children learn and grow through stimulating play and leisure experiences with friends and enjoy a large variety of activities and experiences in our exceptional campus facilities.
We are seeking to appoint casual OSHC Educators to join our dynamic program.
We are a Child Safe organisation with strong practices that place the protection and rights of children as paramount.
Essential criteria:
- Experience working with children and young people
- ACECQA recognised Certificate III or Diploma in Early Education and Care and or active enrolment in an education related degree
- Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per week between the hours of 2.40pm - 6.00pm with additional hours available during term break
- Demonstrated integrity and attitudes consistent with child‑safe values
- Sound understanding of child safety responsibilities, including current knowledge of relevant child protection legislation and the Child Safe Standards
- Understanding of and willingness to fulfil mandatory reporting and escalation obligations in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures
- National Child Safety Training certificate of completion or willingness to obtain prior to commencing employment
- Commitment to maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of child protection obligations and professional responsibilities
- Current ACECQA approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma certifications or willingness to obtain
- Safe Food Handler training or willingness to obtain in accordance with the Food Standards Code and Food Act 2003 (NSW)
- Knowledge of early childhood education and care legislation and regulations, including the My Time Our Place curriculum and National Quality Standards
- Strengths-based approach in working with children and their families
- Self‑motivation, initiative and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Not subject to any restrictions or prohibitions, including suspension, supervision or prohibition notices, or enforceable undertakings.
