Data Architect

• Lead the design of enterprise-wide financial data architecture
• Work across SAP, JD Edwards, Databricks, OneStream and Power BI environments
• Hybrid contract role based in Melbourne

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to play a pivotal role in a large-scale finance transformation initiative, driving the future-state information architecture for a complex enterprise environment.

Working across multiple business units and ERP platforms, you will be responsible for defining, standardising and governing the financial data structures that underpin reporting, analytics and business performance management across the organisation.

This role will partner closely with Finance, Reporting, Technology and Data teams to design scalable and sustainable data models, integration frameworks and architectural standards that support current and future business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the enterprise financial data architecture and roadmap
• Design information models across key financial domains including legal entities, management structures and chart of accounts
• Analyse and align financial data structures across multiple ERP systems
• Define integration patterns between source systems, Databricks Lakehouse, OneStream and reporting platforms
• Establish data architecture principles, standards and governance frameworks
• Partner with finance and business stakeholders to understand reporting and business performance requirements
• Design scalable solutions that support future organisational growth, acquisitions and structural changes
• Provide architectural guidance across data, analytics and performance management initiatives

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in Data Architecture, Information Architecture or Enterprise Data Modelling roles
• Strong background designing enterprise financial data models and reporting structures
• Experience working with complex ERP environments, ideally including SAP and/or JD Edwards
• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks
• Exposure to OneStream, EPM/CPM platforms or financial consolidation solutions is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of management reporting, chart of accounts, cost centres, profit centres and financial hierarchies
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale data transformation or finance transformation programs
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
