Assistant Golf Course Mechanic

Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Mechanic to join our Golf Course Maintenance team, supporting the presentation and performance of The Pines and The Palms golf courses.

Working alongside our Head Mechanic, you will play an important role in maintaining and preparing the Club's machinery fleet, with a particular focus on reel mower maintenance, cutting-unit performance and quality of cut.

About the role

As Assistant Golf Course Mechanic, you will work closely with our Head Mechanic and Golf Course Maintenance team to ensure our equipment is safe, reliable and performing to the standard required to maintain two golf courses.

• Maintaining reel mowers and cutting units to achieve a consistent, high-quality cut.
• Assisting with reel and bedknife grinding, cutting-unit adjustments and height-of-cut settings.
• Completing routine servicing and preventative maintenance across the machinery fleet.
• Assisting with mechanical fault finding, repairs and equipment inspections.
• Collecting parts and materials from suppliers and assisting with equipment transport when required.
• Maintaining workshop tools, equipment, stock and service records.
• Supporting the Head Mechanic to ensure machinery is prepared, reliable and ready for daily course operations.

About you

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has strong mechanical aptitude and understands that attention to detail matters.

• Experience in mechanical maintenance, small engines, outdoor power equipment or a similar field.
• An interest in reel mower technology and achieving an excellent quality of cut.
• A practical, hands-on approach to fault finding and problem-solving.
• A strong and reliable work ethic, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow safe work practices.

A relevant mechanical trade qualification or previous experience with golf course machinery would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right candidate.

We are open to applicants with strong mechanical aptitude and the right attitude who are willing to undertake further training and develop specialist skills in turf equipment maintenance.
