Oracle Developer / Data Engineer

Estimated Start Date: Monday, 29th April 2024
Initial Contract Duration: 6 months with max of 3-month extensions
Location of Work: On-site at Canberra Offices (Majura Park) Hybrid
Security Clearance: Must have Baseline

Responsibilities:

Database Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain robust database systems, including schema design, stored procedures, queries, and scripts for data manipulation and retrieval. Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of database systems.
Data Integration and ETL Processes: Utilise Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) to design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes that integrate data from various sources into a cohesive and efficient architecture. Optimise data flows to improve performance and reliability.
Data Modelling: Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and experience designing and implementing relational and dimensional data models.
Business Intelligence and Reporting: Support the development of reporting and analytics solutions using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver insightful, actionable reports.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Must be able to provide efficient and scalable solutions to meet business needs.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria:

Familiarity with Federal Government ICT.
Cloud Data Management: Leverage cloud technologies for data storage, processing, and analytics. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Azure is desirable. Implement and maintain cloud-based data solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the Solutions Architect and other team members to support the development and implementation of database routines and data strategies. Provide technical expertise and recommendations to improve program outcomes.
