Inventory Controller

The Inventory Controller conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems. Ensures adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy. Being an Inventory Controller trains and manages a team of inventory control staff. Develops and implements inventory control procedures. In addition, Inventory Controller requires a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Inventory Controller manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as an Inventory Controller typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.

Our company is looking for a Inventory Controller to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting, coordinate and reconcile annual stock takes;
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental management to ensure all work practices meet current regulations and codes of practice;
  • Maintain stocked product inventory profiles and stock locations in WMS;
  • Perform regular cycle counts through WMS;
  • Conduct quarterly forecast stock reviews;
  • Proactively managing all inventory related issues;
  • Manage a site based Inventory Control/Quality Assurance Programme;
  • To provide data to Management for tracking of results and to provide insight to management and various stakeholders;
  • Review stock levels on fast moving consumables on a daily basis to ensure optimal stock levels on all fast moving parts in all warehouses;
  • Maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and ensuring discrepancies are actioned and resolved quickly;
  • Implement consistent processes across the DC network to reduce stock loss;
  • Review, analyse and develop action plans for any defects that are identified;
  • Provide advice and direction to ensure problems are solved in a timely manner;
  • Develop and execute daily, weekly and monthly action plans that increase quality, inventory accuracy and service;
  • Perform ad hoc cycle counts and checks. Any discrepancies to be reported to management, fully investigated and resolved.

Requirements:

  • Experience using SAP or equivalent tier 1 systems;
  • Experience in driving process changes to improve quality and integrity of inventory;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Logistics or relevant trade and equivalent experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment;
  • Notice period 1 week or under;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable communication at all levels within the organisation;
  • Previous stock integrity experience in a high-volume environment;
  • Previous experience developing and maintaining inventory and operational procedures.
