Our company is looking for a HR Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR support and guidance to leaders and staff alike;
  • Manage all employee relations and performance management processes;
  • Developing and delivering effective HR practices related to all aspects of the employee lifecycle;
  • Providing advice and assistance on policies and procedures;
  • Providing HR Analytics to inform organisational planning and informed decision making;
  • Manage and support the HR needs of the business;
  • Work closely with Managers and HR staff, providing direction and guidance to both HR and non-HR professionals in their HR related duties;
  • Leading and managing a values based HR function that nurtures a positive workplace culture;
  • Identifying and leading the implementation of operational HR plans and strategies in line with the Strategic Priorities;
  • Attend corporate sponsored social events as a figurehead of the SMT;
  • Managing compliance with industrial relations and regulatory obligations;
  • Work in close collaboration with the Onboard Learning & Development Officer to provide suitable and relevant training for the ship team;
  • Coordinate the OHS processes and systems to ensure compliance with policies and regulations;
  • Comply with and support global Compensation and HRIS system initiatives and maintenance;
  • Provide an effective HR service onboard which is pragmatic, commercial, solution focused and provides a professional HR service to the fleet/ship.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of current Fair Work Act/employee legislative requirements and industry best practices;
  • Ability to exercise sensitivity, discretion and judgment, and to maintain confidentiality of information;
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Working knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and WorkCover;
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment and selection, counselling, performance management and managing staff grievances.
