Product Specialist monitors all aspects of a product lifecycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing. Stays abreast of trends in the marketplace to ensure the product’s competitive position. Being a Product Specialist interfaces with project managers and clients to determine the product’s future direction. Requires a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, Product Specialist typically reports to a manager. To be a Product Specialist typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.

Our company is looking for a Product Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • May mentor 1-2 other students in our PDP program;
  • Assist with scoping and planning of new developments as needed;
  • Collect, synthesize, and prioritize customer feedback, using a combination of live customer feedback sessions and additional feedback mechanisms;
  • Chat focused: 70%
  • Provide business analysis of problems and new requests;
  • Identify potential growth and retention opportunities within customer chat conversations;
  • Participate in project teams with developers and other key staff to develop new functionality for the product;
  • Deliver live demos/coaching sessions to customers: 0-1 week (ad-hoc, non-strategic accounts);
  • Triage, diagnose, and provide solutions to complex configuration issues with Dynatrace solutions;
  • Respond to product inquiries and provide assistance to customers via chat (primary), email, web conference, and phone;
  • Follow existing procedures/processes/training materials with little independence;
  • May contribute to initiatives and projects.

Requirements:

  • Web and application server technologies such as Apache, IIS, WebSphere, WebLogic and JBoss;
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience;
  • Dynatrace Associate Certified;
  • Exceptional corporate presentation and relationship-building skills with technical and non-technical audiences;
  • 5 years of work experience;
  • Flexible work schedule as you may be required to work non-business hours and weekends;
  • This person will cover a 4 Day /10 Hour schedule, with one day overlapping a weekend;
  • Familiar with networking, protocols, and architectures such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SSL, and BGP;
  • Server/Server-side technologies such as Java Servlets, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Ajax;
  • Mobile application technologies such as iOS, Android Webkit;
  • Cloud/new stack technologies such as OpenStack, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, SAP, etc;
  • Familiar with database design, SQL, and data access practices and concepts.
