Our company is looking for a Paralegal to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Expenditure reporting;
- Ad Hoc Administration relating to files;
- Preparing and amending documents and briefs for the legal team using Microsoft Office and Open Practice software; and;
- Conducting searches;
- Lodgement of legal documentation;
- Preparing Contracts;
- Technical reporting;
- Acting as a client liaison, providing accurate and detailed information according to Solicitor’s directions;
- Creating and completing matters on PEXA;
- Booking in settlements;
- Calculating settlement figures and preparing cheque directions/payments/PEXA Destinations;
- Experience using PEXA and Leap (is preferred but not essential);
- Review of confidentiality agreements, and other simple agreements. Training and guidance will be provided by the legal team;
- Preparing for settlement, mostly via PEXA, but on occasion liaising with settlement agents;
- Liaising with clients and providing regular, professional communication and updates.
Requirements:
- Experience in Queensland and Victorian conveyancing matters will be viewed favourably;
- Experience in managing conveyancing files in NSW, both for sales and purchases;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Exposure to working in chambers;
- Demonstrated success in a similar role;
- Knowledge of Smokeball practice-management software is preferred, but not essential;
- Preparing and amending documents and briefs for the legal team using Microsoft Office and Open Practice software; and;
- Proficient computer skills;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications;
- Acting as a client liaison, providing accurate and detailed information according to Solicitor’s directions;
- Sound time management skills;
- Ability to effectively and calmly manage and meet conflicting priorities;
- Advanced communication skills – dealing with clients, banks/lenders, and other law firms and conveyancers;
- A self-starter with the ability and desire to manage the demanding needs of a busy team;
- Keen interest in expanding skills in paralegal support and potentially legal training.
