Panel Beater Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Panel Beater to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Spray-paint vehicles;
- fitting repaired or replacement panels on vehicles and refitting body hardware such as door locks and trims;
- filling depressions with plastic filler, and filing, grinding and sanding repaired surfaces;
- Repair depressions with plastic filler, and filing, grinding and sanding repaired surface;
- Straightening damaged vehicles using mechanical equipment;
- cutting and joining replacement sections using welding equipment;
- Removing upholstery to gain access to damaged panels;
- removing damaged panels and parts, and removing upholstery and accessories to gain access;
- Using welding equipment and finishing equipment;
- removing dents by hammering panels;
- Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties;
- Maintaining company tools and equipment in good working order;
- Mentoring apprentices to learn their trade;
- Maintaining and performing all workshop practices in a manner that adheres to all Workplace Health and Safety regulations;
- Performing maintenance, repairs and refurbishment.
Requirements:
- Time management skills;
- Qualified Panel Beater / Spray Painter;
- An aggressive eye for detail;
- Must be able to work in a team environment;
- Own tools relevant to this role;
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role;
- Trade Qualification;
- Able to work in a fast paced environment;
- Mentoring apprentices to learn their trade;
- Maintaining company tools and equipment in good working order;
- Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties;
- Maintaining and performing all workshop practices in a manner that adheres to all Workplace Health and Safety regulations;
- Have a current Australian driver’s licence;
- Able to work unsupervised at times;
- Performing maintenance, repairs and refurbishment.
