Our company is looking for a Support Worker to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing a safe and welcoming environment for clients who live at, or are accessing the service;
  • Assisting participants with personal care;
  • Availability to cover a range of shifts including sleepovers, weekends and more than 1 shift per day is highly desirable;
  • Transport;
  • Domestic and Daily Living support;
  • Community Access: Transportation to appointments or events as well as attendance and support with community access and socialisation;
  • Advocating for clients with external agencies on a needs basis;
  • Maintaining daily Communications Book and other documentation as required e.g. client records and case notes;
  • Domestic assistance: Meal preparation, grocery shopping, laundry assistance and changing bedding;
  • Undertaking a variety of tasks i.e. serving meals, supervising activities, transporting clients and other accommodation related tasks;
  • maintaining client records/case notes and other documentation required;
  • Individual support: Aiding in the development of new skills and assisting clients with achieving independence;
  • Reviewing and managing care/support plans and documenting with relevancy;
  • Maintaining data integrity in terms of the privatisation of sensitive information;
  • Recording daily achievements and constructing progress notes.

Requirements:

  • Be physically fit due to the physical nature of the position;
  • Satisfactory Police Records Check;
  • Experience with higher needs participants such as, however not limited to: PEG feeding, hoisting, seizures, epilepsy and challenging behaviours;
  • Evidence of working rights within Australia such as a passport or birth certificate;
  • A current valid Driver’s License and a reliable, registered vehicle;
  • Have own roadworthy car and driver’s license;
  • Flexible, responsive and have the ability to do fill-in shifts as and when required;
  • Blue Card and Yellow Card (Current or willing to obtain prior to employment);
  • Have a genuine, caring soul and be able to contribute positively in my life;
  • Minimum Qualification or evidence of enrolment in Certificate 3 or 4 in Mental Health, Disability, Aged Care or Home and Community Care;
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and Comprehensive Car Insurance;
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification;
  • Working with Children Check (Preferred);
  • Clear National Police Check;
  • Nationally accredited Certificate III or above within the health field e.g. Disability, Individual Support, etc.
