Our company is looking for a Chef to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion;
  • Ability to operate a busy kitchen solo when required;
  • Ability to plan special menus fortnightly;
  • Overseeing the induction and training of kitchen staff to ensure they can consistently deliver the expected standards;
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices;
  • oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, order food and undertake the kitchen inventory (this potentially includes budgeting);
  • Checking quality of produce delivered and ensuring the quality of mise en place;
  • Supervise and lead junior staff including cooks and chefs;
  • Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes as per our standards;
  • Stock checking, including ordering, accepting food deliveries and ensuring safe storage of products;
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications;
  • Assisting and training kitchen staff in understanding dish preparation and ingredients;
  • create a vision for the cuisine, inspire your team and delegate tasks effectively;
  • Follow the budget established by the restaurant manager;
  • Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • lives locally around Cheltenham or surrounding suburbs;
  • at least 2 verified reference to verify working experience;
  • Culinary Expertise;
  • be flexible about working hours as per the requirement of the business;
  • Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience;
  • Qualified Chef;
  • Help to train less experienced staff in the kitchen and discuss food preparation issues with Managers and waiting staff;
  • Multitasking and ability in handling a high quality and high volume of culinary operations;
  • Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic;
  • Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations;
  • be able to maintain a clean kitchen and use kitchen appliances and equipment safely;
  • Criminal record (mandatory prior embarkation schedule);
  • Ability to follow prep lists & cleaning schedules;
  • Ability to establishing rapport and respect with colleagues and guests;
  • Preparing, planning menus and cooking food to customer demands.
