Chef/cook Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Chef/cook to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Use of a PoS system as well as cash management;
- Keep abreast of food trends and seasonal produce available;
- Supervising the kitchen to ensure maximum productivity and quality standards;
- A strong focus on high quality function and event food preparation, including menu design, planning and costings;
- Monitoring stock rotation and stock control to minimise wastage and prevent contamination;
- To maintain a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in accordance with Sodexo, client and statutory requirements;
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen;
- Maintain cleanliness of all rooms during and after service, usage of commercial dishwasher and thoroughly clean the kitchen area;
- Agree and adhere to Sodexo and client HSEQ requirements;
- Prepare meals to order from customers;
- Meet budgeted food and wage costs;
- Assist head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen;
- Complying with the Business Safety & Environment policies, initiatives and legislation;
- ordering stock from our various suppliers on a weekly basis;
- Maintaining excellent grooming and hygiene.
Requirements:
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Attention to detail, clean, and with great time management skills;
- Excellent presentation and exceptional communication skills;
- At least 1 years’ experience with modern Australian cafe cuisine;
- Work experience in the preparation of Korean cuisine;
- Sound knowledge of current food trends;
- A high standard of professional grooming;
- A passion for producing great food with a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
- Flexible and adaptive nature;
- Have at least two years’ experience;
- Be a team player and understand the importance of a strong customer centric team culture;
- Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations;
- At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role;
- Knowledge of HACCP standards and procedures.
