Our company is looking for a Farm Hand to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ploughing and seeding;
- Maintenance and repair of fencing, buildings, machinery, irrigation units and other equipment;
- Cattle work including movements and general animal husbandry;
- Weed and pest control;
- Irrigation operation;
- Farm machinery operation;
- Pasture maintenance;
- Daily oversight of animal health and welfare;
- Shed preparation and clean out;
- General farm duties & maintenance;
- Daily shed checks;
- Working within bio-security and hygiene rules and complying with quality assurance programs;
- Planning and prioritising work;
- Ensuring performance, quality, animal welfare and cost objectives are achieved.
Requirements:
- Quick thinking and highly motivated;
- Attention to detail and be able to work alone at times;
- Work well in a team;
- MC drivers licence or willing to obtain;
- Experience in operating headers, planters and spray rigs;
- Mechanical and welding abilities;
- Low stress cattle handling;
- Chemical handling certificate an advantage;
- Ability to operate modern machinery with Greenstar/Trimble GPS systems.
