Spray Painter

The Spray Painter requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Utilizes a sprayer to apply paint to a variety of products. Being a Spray Painter has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. In addition, Spray Painter relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.

Our company is looking for a Spray Painter to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing surfaces by removing dirt and rust and sanding surfaces;
  • Be able to use blowtorch, sandblaster, spray gun and have good eye for colours;
  • Mixing paint to meet job specifications;
  • Applying rust-proofing undercoats;
  • Sanding surfaces between coats and after final finish;
  • Removing accessories (eg. mirrors) prior to painting;
  • Laying out and applying lettering, logos or other designs as specified;
  • Utilising paint spray gun with accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Automotive refinishing technology or relevant;
  • Proven experience as a vehicle painter.
