Our company is looking for a Conference & Events Coordinator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop future and repeat business, contributing to the profitability of the Hotel;
- Assisting with development and management of conference program and speakers;
- Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs;
- Develop and expand current existing accounts, focusing on achieving repeat business and upselling opportunities;
- Building event websites and apps;
- Maximize rooms, groups, conference and events revenue through pro-active selling and commercial management techniques;
- Prepare and monitor event schedules to ensure projects keep to a strict timeline;
- Building and managing registration, exhibitor and abstract/speaker management portals;
- Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events as necessary;
- Pulling registration and financial reports;
- Focus on a consistently executed up-selling approach;
- Participate in hotel promotional activities;
- Accurately allocate and track time and resources;
- Contribute to the strategy and planning activities of the Sales function;
- Seek proactive opportunities to increase sales and conversions within the Team.
Requirements:
- Minimum two years experience in a similar role;
- Good organisational and administration skills;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of record keeping;
- Keen to be part of a rapidly growing business, and growing with us;
- Experience with online project management tools such as Google Drive and Google Hangout is an advantage;
- Must be highly driven and self motivated, with ability to work alone, as well as part of a very fast paced and demanding team;
- Ability to multitask and handle conflicting deadlines effectively;
- Excellent communication skills including writing, proof reading and speaking;
- High level of IT skills;
- Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and mail merges and the Google Doc equivalents;
- Confident telephone manner;
- Willingness to have fun and a laugh at work;
- Must be experienced with EventsAir event management software;
- A general understanding of website content and social media platform management;
- Positive attitude and good communication skills.
