Company Accountant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Company Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Payment claims and queries from internal stakeholders;
- Completion of compliance and review of payroll;
- Assist with budgets and forecasts and providing variance analysis;
- Ad hoc tasks;
- Assist with Accounts payable & accounts receivable duties;
- Preparation of month accounts;
- Preparing financial reports for the Australian and New Zealand businesses;
- Cashflow reporting;
- Statutory reporting including, tax returns preparations, BAS, GST and FBT;
- Managing month end reporting including, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations and journal entries;
- This role consists of predominantly financial accounting responsibilities, along with some management accounting duties;
- Supervising the Accounts Payable team;
- Month end processes;
- General Ledger and balance sheet reconciliations;
- KPI analysis.
Requirements:
- Strong technical accounting background with budget and reporting experience;
- Experience motivating, coaching and leading a team to achieve results within agreed timelines;
- Advanced Excel skills;
- Knowledge of payroll management and software packages (preferably MYOB, Xero, HR3);
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with executives, managers and employees;
- A CPA/CA certification will be highly regarded;
- Strong understanding of financial governance;
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting and/or Finance with 5 – 8 years’ experience in a similar senior finance role.
