Range Caretaker Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Range Caretaker to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- On site and available during AH times when activities are in progress on Range;
- Maintain tidiness around the exterior of range control and the wash bay;
- Site security access, safety briefing, issuing of Range standing orders and all related paperwork including online documents such as IMS;
- Handover to Range Control Staff at 0700hrs and receive the range back at 1600hrs;
- Provide out of hours and weekend Range Control Function;
- Operation and monitoring of STARSN radio system and keeping of accurate communications log;
- Assist Range Operators with Land Management tasks and fence inspections/repairs;
- General non-tech maintenance and cleaning duties;
- First Response Bushfire Fighting and monitoring of fire grounds.
Requirements:
- Bush firefighting qualifications;
- Be an Australian citizen eligible & for a defence clearance (mandatory);
- Experience with the use relevant tools including power tools, chain saws etc;
- High level of navigational/orientation skills;
- Working knowledge with inventory control, stock management and storage maintenance;
- Valid Australian drivers licence;
- Hold current Operational licences and equipment tickets;
- Experience in Range and/or Defence Land Management (highly desirable);
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
