ux/ui designer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a ux/ui designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, particularly IT;
- Define and execute visual, UX and UI designs for digital and web assets that benefit customers and clients;
- Meet with clients or upper management to explain UI/UX strategies and solutions;
- Adhere to style standards on fonts, colours and images;
- Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like;
- Gather and evaluate user requirements independently or in collaboration with managers and digital marketing teams;
- Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders;
- Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps;
- Perform UX research for projects and deliverables;
- Design original pieces, including illustrations and infographics;
- Increase user friendliness in digital products;
- Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of delivery methodologies (especially agile);
- Experience with design systems across multiple platforms and projects (e.g. iOS, Android);
- Strong capacity for taking on board feedback and implementing it in an iterative process;
- Exposure on design tools- Sketch, Invision, JIRA, Illustrator and Photoshop;
- Digital Web/Mobile platforms and front-end development capabilities (HTML, CSS) experience;
- Experience in using After effects / Final Cut Pro for motion graphics and video editing (Lottie files for UI animations) – not crucial;
- Experience in user-centred design methodologies and design thinking to design solutions;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in visual design would be nice to have;
- An advanced design portfolio with examples of mobile and touch work that demonstrates conceptual problem solving;
- 3-5 years experience in design, ideally with 1 year in a senior role;
- Demonstrated expertise using standard design applications (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote, Sketch, InVision).
