Our client is a government organisation responsible for delivering essential services and supporting communities across the Northern Territory. With a strong focus on public service, community outcomes and regional development, our client plays an important role in supporting the Territorys diverse and geographically dispersed population.

About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Child Protection Practitioner to join their team. In this role, you will utilise your expertise to assess incoming notifications and requests for support, analyse complex information and determine the most appropriate interventions and service responses for children, young people and families in need, while working within relevant legislative, policy and best-practice frameworks.

Key Responsibilitie s

  • Assess incoming child protection notifications and requests for support.
  • Conduct comprehensive child safety and strength-based assessments.
  • Analyse information to determine appropriate interventions and service responses.
  • Exercise relevant statutory delegations in accordance with legislation and policy.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and client records.
  • Work collaboratively within a 24/7 Central Intake Team to deliver timely outcomes.

Experience Required

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, community services or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in child protection, statutory welfare or a related field.
  • Strong experience conducting complex assessments and developing effective interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation within a statutory environment.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, organisational and report-writing skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
