About the Role
Montessori Care is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and High-Intensity Support Workers to join a dedicated care team providing complex, high-intensity clinical support as part of a 24/7, 2:1 rotating roster.
This role is ideal for clinically skilled and compassionate professionals who thrive in complex care settings and want to make a genuine difference in someone's daily life.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing full physical assistance with all activities of daily living, including personal care, showering, and positioning
- Performing regular oral, nasal, and deep suctioning (every 20–30 minutes) to manage airway and respiratory secretions
- Supporting safe hoist transfers with airway checks and suctioning as required
- Administering PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) feeds and fluids
- Managing suprapubic catheter care, including regular urine bag emptying
- Administering medications via PEG, topical, subcutaneous, or inhaled routes (seizure management, UTI prevention, respiratory and pain management)
- Monitoring for seizures and responding appropriately
- Supporting emotional wellbeing through calm, reassuring communication, understanding and interpreting non-verbal cues
- Respecting and supporting participation in cultural and religious practices (Jewish background)
- Working closely with the clinical team to ensure safe, consistent, high-quality care
About You
For Registered Nurses:
- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience with tracheostomy/airway management, PEG feeding, catheter care, and seizure management
- Confidence leading and supporting a care team
For Advanced/High-Intensity Support Workers:
- Demonstrated experience or willingness to be trained in oral/nasal suctioning, PEG feeding, and catheter care
- Comfortable working in a high-intensity, clinical care environment
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
All Applicants:
- Genuine passion for person-centred, high-intensity care
- Strong communication skills and patience, particularly with non-verbal clients
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a 24/7 roster
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, compassionate, and calm under pressure
