Payroll Officer

A well-established, growth-focused professional services business is seeking a Payroll Officer to cover someone going on leave.
This is a high-volume payroll environment where accuracy, pace, and stakeholder engagement are critical.
The Role
You will take ownership of end-to-end payroll and associated reporting across a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Include
- End-to-end payroll processing (high volume) including timesheets, expenses, terminations, and backpays
- Accurate creation and distribution of sales invoices aligned to payroll cycles
- Management of contractor leave, onboarding data, and system integrity
- Statutory compliance including payroll tax, PAYG, super, and parental leave
- Preparation of margin reports and support for monthly reconciliations
- Maintenance and continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes
- First point of contact for contractor payroll queries and client invoicing queries
About You
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll, ideally within a high volume, complex environment
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation (PAYG, super, payroll tax)
- High attention to detail with reconciliation and reporting capability
- Confident working across multiple systems and large datasets
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
