Product Owner - Discovery & Demand

ABOUT THE ROLE

Internal Only | Permanent | Full time| Hybrid, Sydney

We’re looking for a commercially minded Product Owner to maximise the value of our digital marketplace by improving how customers discover assets and convert into active bidders.

This role plays a critical part in lifting auction participation, bidding activity and ultimately resale outcomes. You’ll lead two key areas of focus:

  • Discovery – ensuring customers can easily find the right assets at the right time
  • Demand – converting intent into action to increase bidder activity and competition

Reporting to the Head of Product – Digital Selling, you’ll use data and customer insights to shape product decisions and continuously improve performance. This includes analysing the end-to-end buyer journey, identifying drop-off points and uncovering the underlying drivers of customer behaviour to inform meaningful product improvements.

In this role you will:

  • Own and prioritise the product backlog to ensure the team is focused on the highest-value work.
  • Translate business needs and customer insights into clear user stories and actionable requirements.
  • Partner with Tech, Data, UX and business stakeholders to deliver product improvements and new features.
  • Craft appropriate success and validation metrics that can be clearly conveyed and understood by stakeholders outside the product team
  • Use customer behaviour, product data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Employ UX as a core strategic lever to drive our desired user behaviour, designing detailed interactive prototypes that communicate the vision clearly for tech development teams
  • Support sprint planning, reviews and delivery activities to keep work moving and releases on track.
  • Engage stakeholders across the business to gather feedback, align priorities and communicate progress.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI and emerging technology to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute ideas for new features, enhancements and product improvements that support business goals.

  ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in a Product Owner or similar role, with the ability to translate customer and business needs into clear priorities and outcomes.
  • Strong product, analytical and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across Technology, Data, UX and the broader business.
  • Experience in digital, marketplace, e-commerce or auction environments will be highly regarded, along with an interest in emerging technology and AI.
  • A tertiary qualification in business, technology, product, commerce or a related field is preferred.
