Product Graphic Designer

Full-time

JIVARO Recruitment

Role: Graphic & CMF Designer
Location: Sydney, AUS

We are currently looking for a Product Graphic Designer that can blur the line between Graphic and CMF Design.

You must be a self-starter with a drive to deliver innovative ideas and design solutions, with the ability to support the Product Developer through the full process — from design concept to production — including execution of packaging, user manuals, training material, and product webpages.
As this role requires a wide range of design skills, we are looking for an individual who is open to learning and stretching outside their core
competence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Trend Analysis:
Staying informed about current trends in color, materials, and technology to anticipate future consumer preferences.
  • Colour Selection:
Choosing colour palettes that align with brand identity, user emotions, and cultural significance.
  • Material Selection:
Sourcing and selecting materials that meet functional requirements (such as durability and certification), aesthetic goals, and sustainability standards.
  • Collaboration:
Working with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, and supply chain to ensure CMF choices are feasible and integrate well into the overall product development process.
  • Sustainability Focus:
Incorporating sustainable material choices, waste reduction, and energy efficiency into the design process.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

The Graphic & CMF Designer is responsible for trend research, colour, paint, and graphics across products. The role also includes packaging execution with a focus on sustainability.
You will create designs for a wide range of products including:

  • Scooters
  • Skateboards
  • Body Boards
  • Helmets
  • Backyard Games
  • Darts
  • Table Tennis
  • Sporting Goods

This role has flexible working arrangements, with an expectation to be in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday–Thursday) to remain engaged and connected with the team. Additional office attendance may occasionally be required.
This is a rare opportunity to design for exclusive in-house brands sold nationally through a large retail network, contributing to products that inspire Australians to pursue active lifestyles.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic or Industrial Design
  • 5+ years’ experience within Graphics, CMF, and/or Product Design
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially:
    • Illustrator
    • Photoshop
    • InDesign
  • Experience in 3D design and rendering is a plus
  • Experience using project management tools such as Asana or ********** is beneficial
  • Strong collaboration skills within close-knit and intercultural teams
  • Openness to feedback and design discussion
  • Passion for current and emerging design trends and visual culture, particularly across graphics, colour, materials, and finishes
  • Ability to work across multiple brands and projects simultaneously with strong organisational skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently present ideas to peers, managers, and executives
