Assistant Accountant - Temporary to Permanent

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is a key support function within the finance team, providing hands-on assistance across core finance operations. The position will suit someone early in their accounting career who enjoys variety, ownership of processes and working closely with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supporting month-end close activities
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Posting journal entries
• Updating the General Ledger
• Working collaboratively on ad-hoc reporting tasks as requested by the Senior Accountants and Financial Manager
• Liaising with internal operational teams and external suppliers
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies

The Candidate

• Degree qualified in Accounting or a related discipline
• 2+ years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or finance operations role
• Strong exposure to accounts payable and cash reconciliations
• CA/CPA qualification (or working toward)
• Confident communicator with the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
• Well organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
• A positive, proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow
