Our client is a well-established specialist medical practice with multiple locations across the Gold Coast. Known for delivering exceptional patient care and professional medical services, the practice is seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to support a team of specialists in a fast-paced and patient-focused environment.


Your new role

As Medical Administrator, you will provide high-level administrative support to specialist medical practitioners while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice. This role will require travel between multiple practice locations, providing flexibility and support where required.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, medical professionals, and stakeholders, delivering a professional and compassionate experience while managing specialist medical administration processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage specialist appointment bookings and specialist consultation schedules
  • Prepare, format, and distribute specialist correspondence and medical reports
  • Liaise with patients, hospitals, allied health providers, and referring practitioners
  • Maintain accurate patient records and confidential medical information
  • Process billing, Medicare claims, private health fund claims, and invoicing
  • Coordinate surgical bookings, hospital admissions, and procedure schedules
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and patient enquiries
  • Support multiple specialists with diary management and administrative tasks
  • Travel between practice locations as required to provide administrative support
  • Ensure compliance with privacy legislation and healthcare industry standards


What you'll need to succeed

  • Essential: Previous experience working as a Medical Administrator within a specialist medical practice
  • Experience managing specialist correspondence, referrals, and patient records
  • Knowledge of Medicare, private health fund claims, and medical billing processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current driving licence and reliable vehicle with the ability to travel between practice locations
