Your new company This well-established and growing manufacturing organisation is a recognised leader within its sector, known for its strong operational capability and commitment to quality. With a close-knit team and a practical, hands-on culture, the business is now seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the people and safety function.
Your new role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a broad, standalone role where you will take full responsibility for both Human Resources and Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) across the business.
You will operate as a trusted advisor to leadership while also being hands-on in delivering day-to-day HR and safety outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full employee life cycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance, and offboarding
  • Providing practical HR advice and coaching to managers on employee relations matters
  • Leading performance management, disciplinary processes, and investigations
  • Developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks
  • Driving employee engagement and organisational culture initiatives
  • Managing workplace health and safety systems, compliance, and reporting
  • Conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and return-to-work processes
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation and WHS regulations
  • Leading audits, training, and continuous improvement in safety practices

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and pragmatic HR professional who thrives in a standalone environment.
You will bring:

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within manufacturing, industrial, or blue-collar environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing WHS/safety frameworks and compliance
  • The ability to influence and partner with operational leaders
  • A hands-on, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience working in a standalone or autonomous HR role (highly desirable)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
