Senior Data Engineer

The Role

You’ll play a key role in designing and building high-quality data products that power analytics, operations and AI use cases across the business.

As our Senior Data Engineer, your key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: 

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations across batch and streaming workloads
• Deliver reliable, well-structured data products aligned to business domains and platform strategy
• Work across the Medallion architecture , from ingestion through to consumption layers
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into usable and trusted datasets
• Embed data quality, observability and reliability practices into pipelines from day one
• Contribute to monitoring, incident response and continuous platform improvement
• Apply FinOps principles , optimising performance and cost across data workloads
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team standards and best practices

About You

You’re a hands-on data engineer who thrives in modern cloud environments and enjoys solving complex data challenges.

• Solid experience delivering production-grade data pipelines on modern platforms
• Strong expertise in Snowflake , including SQL, data modelling and performance optimisation
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow and modern CI/CD practices
• Strong data modelling capabilities across dimensional and Medallion architectures
• Proficiency in dbt , Python or Java , and experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Flink
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• A good understanding of data quality, governance and observability practices
• Exposure to AI-enabled data capabilities or interest in building data products for AI use cases (desirable)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
