ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER

  • Genus is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join the team delivering the Clean Energy Link – North Region project , supporting major transmission and substation infrastructure works across Western Australia.

    This is a site-based project role working across multiple sitelocations including Malaga, Eneabba and Regans Ford. The position will suit an engineer with strong transmission, substation and HV electrical infrastructure experience who enjoys working closely with construction teams and coordinating the technical delivery of complex electrical packages across design, construction and commissioning phases.

    About the Project
    Clean Energy Link – North is a major transmission infrastructure project designed to strengthen Western Australia’s electrical network and support the transition to renewable energy generation across the state.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and manage electrical engineering activities across design, construction and commissioning phases
    • Support delivery of HV transmission and substation infrastructure packages in accordance with project specifications, client requirements and Australian standards
    • Work closely with supervisors, commissioning teams and construction personnel across multiple project sites
    • Interpret and review primary and secondary electrical design drawings, technical specifications and scope documentation
    • Prepare and review engineering documentation including work packs, ITPs, ITRs, FATs, test procedures and construction documentation
    • Provide technical guidance and support to site construction teams, subcontractors and vendors
    • Manage Technical Queries (TQ’s) and coordinate engineering responses between project stakeholders
    • Monitor engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with construction schedules and project milestones
    • Support commissioning activities and interface coordination across electrical packages
    • Ensure compliance with safety, quality and project delivery requirements

    Essential Skills / Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum 3 years experience in an Electrical Project Engineering role within transmission, substations, utilities, renewables or major infrastructure projects
    • Demonstrated experience working on HV electrical infrastructure projects
    • Strong understanding of transmission line and substation construction methodologies
    • Experience interpreting primary and secondary electrical drawings and technical specifications
    • Exposure to testing, commissioning and energisation activities highly regarded
    • Ability to work in a site-based role across multiple project locations
    • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving capability
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment
    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

    Desirable

    • Previous experience working on utility or Western Power projects
    • Brownfield or live environment project experience
    • Site-based construction or commissioning experience
    • Exposure to renewable energy or utility-scale infrastructure projects
