About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to lead and oversee the management of our vehicle fleet. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, coordinating and optimising all aspects of fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are utilised efficiently, maintained to the highest standards, and operated in compliance with all regulatory requirements while supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of a fleet of more than 180+ vehicles.

Develop and implement fleet management policies, procedures and operational strategies.

Coordinate vehicle bookings, allocation, delivery and collection to maximise fleet utilisation.

Manage fleet procurement activities, including supplier liaison, vehicle acquisition planning and purchase recommendations.

Monitor fleet performance, utilisation, operating costs and customer demand, and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs while minimising vehicle downtime.

Ensure compliance with vehicle registration, insurance, roadworthiness and relevant transport regulations.

Manage traffic infringements, accident reporting and other fleet-related compliance matters.

Oversee customer onboarding, vehicle rental agreements and ongoing customer support.

Prepare operational budgets, monitor fleet expenditure and recommend cost-saving initiatives.

Process invoices, payments and maintain accurate fleet and financial records.

Develop and maintain fleet management systems and digital tools to monitor fleet performance, compliance and operational efficiency.

Prepare fleet performance, utilisation and operational reports to support management decision-making and business planning.

Liaise with suppliers, service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient fleet operations.

Support strategic planning for fleet expansion, asset replacement and operational optimisation.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in a fleet management or similar management role within the vehicle rental, vehicle leasing, transport, logistics or automotive industry.

A qualification in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Automotive Management or a related field is preferred.

Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in vehicle scheduling, procurement and asset management.

Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and fleet management systems.

Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

A current full Australian driver's licence is required, as the role involves coordinating and moving company vehicles when required.
