The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Air Freight Export specialists while ensuring the efficient movement of freight, strong customer relationships, and achievement of operational and financial targets.

You will be a hands-on leader who enjoys mentoring staff, improving processes, and supporting your team to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Air Freight Export operators
• Ensure all export shipments are processed accurately and in line with customer requirements
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity and service excellence
• Monitor and achieve key operational and financial KPIs
• Maximise gross profit and minimise operational costs across all shipments
• Act as the primary escalation point for customer and operational issues
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and carriers
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, security and company procedures
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team performance
• Support business growth through exceptional service and customer retention

About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Proven experience within Air Freight Export Operations
• Previous supervisory, team leader or management experience within freight forwarding
• Strong knowledge of export procedures, carrier requirements and compliance regulations
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills
• Commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and operational efficiency
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• The ability to motivate, mentor and develop a successful team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
