This role is focused on developing clear, detailed and execution-ready scopes of work and structured work packs.
It is a front-end definition role, not project management, construction supervision or contractor execution.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced engineering professional to provide specialist support in scope definition, technical writing and work pack development.

You will translate engineering intent into clear contractor deliverables, ensuring scope boundaries, inclusions, exclusions, interfaces, assumptions, constraints, QA/QC requirements and acceptance criteria are properly defined before work proceeds to tender.

You will work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, HSE and asset integrity stakeholders to ensure documentation is practical, complete and suitable for contractor pricing and execution.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing clear, outcome-based scopes of work suitable for tendering
  • Preparing structured, execution-ready work packs
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, records, inspection reports and supporting documentation
  • Identifying information gaps, assumptions, constraints and interfaces
  • Defining scope boundaries, battery limits, inclusions and exclusions
  • Translating engineering intent into clearly defined contractor deliverables
  • Defining QA/QC requirements, inspection points, hold points and acceptance criteria
  • Documenting physical, functional and responsibility interfaces
  • Completing site walk-downs where required to validate assumptions and constraints
  • Engaging with engineering, operations, maintenance, HSE and asset integrity stakeholders
  • Preparing or referencing marked-up drawings, sketches, interface diagrams, asset registers and tag lists
  • Supporting technical queries and clarifications during scope development
  • Incorporating stakeholder feedback before documentation is issued for tender
  • Ensuring deliverables are suitable for document control systems and editable electronic formats

What You’ll Bring

  • Engineering qualification, with Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Strong experience developing detailed scopes of work
  • Proven experience preparing structured work packs
  • Strong technical writing and engineering documentation capability
  • Experience translating engineering intent into contractor deliverables
  • Understanding of QA/QC requirements, inspection points, hold points and acceptance criteria
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary assets and systems
  • Exposure to mechanical plant, pipework, tanks, vessels, containment, civil interfaces and electrical or instrumentation interfaces
  • Experience in brownfield, live-plant or regulated operational environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to clearly define responsibilities, assumptions, constraints and scope boundaries
  • Must have the right to work in Australia
