The Role
This isn't your average workshop or site job. Working on-site and onboard advanced rail grinding vehicles, your day-to-day will involve:
- Maintaining, diagnosing, and operating specialized rail grinding machinery.
- Safely and efficiently meeting production goals to ensure the tracks keep moving.
- Working collaboratively in a close team environment across both Sydney and regional/remote network locations.

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking Trade Qualified Electricians, Mechanical Fitters, and Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Mechanics who have a strong mechanical aptitude, sharp attention to detail, and an uncompromising commitment to safety.
Core Requirements:
- Trade Qualification: Australian Trade Certificate (Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, Electrical Trade, or equivalent).
- Licences: Current unrestricted Electrical Licence (for Electricians).
- Valid Driver’s Licence with reliable transport.
- Travel & Flexibility: Must be willing and able to travel to regional and remote locations as required by operational needs, and work a flexible mix of day and night shifts on the 9 on, 5 off schedule.
- Medical & Safety: Ability to pass a Category 1 Rail Medical (including full colour vision) and ongoing Drug & Alcohol screenings.
- RIW Card: Current Rail Industry Worker card, or a 100% willingness to obtain.
- Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential.
Previous experience in rail, rolling stock, mining, heavy industrial, defence, or manufacturing is highly regarded, but a great attitude and willingness to learn is key!
