Underground supervisor required for a development project in WA

A well-established underground mining contractor delivering development and production services across multiple sites in Western Australia. With a strong pipeline of secured work and a focus on safety, productivity, and quality delivery, this organisation is continuing to expand its underground operations.
Due to ongoing project demand, they are seeking an experienced Underground Supervisor to join their team on a long-term contract, with a clear pathway to permanent employment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising underground development crews across decline, level, and capital development
  • Coordinating daily production activities to meet schedule and budget target
  • Ensuring compliance with site safety systems, procedures, and statutory requirements
  • Managing shift crews, including performance, mentoring, and safety leadership
  • Liaising with engineering, geology, and client representatives on site
  • Monitoring ground conditions, ventilation, and development standards
  • Driving continuous improvement in safety, productivity, and cost efficiency
  • Reporting on shift performance and contributing to short-term planning

    To be successful, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in underground development mining (essential)
  • Current Section 26 (S26) Supervisors Ticket (WA) mandatory
  • Previous experience as an Underground Supervisor or Leading Hand stepping up
  • Strong understanding of development cycles, jumbo operations, and ground support
  • Proven safety leadership and commitment to best practice underground
  • Ability to lead crews in a high-performance, production-focused environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
