Are you an experienced administrator with strong Microsoft 365 skills and a knack for keeping teams organised and on track? We are seeking a proactive Business Support Officer (Communications) to join a busy Government communications and engagement team on a temporary full-time basis.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator, coordinator or executive support professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting senior stakeholders while contributing to a range of communications and engagement activities.
Your new role
Working closely with the Director and broader team, you will provide high-level business support and coordination across a diverse range of administrative and communications functions.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to senior leadership and the wider team
  • Coordinating calendars, meetings and correspondence
  • Managing enquiries and supporting stakeholder communication
  • Preparing reports, presentations, briefings and other documentation
  • Maintaining records, systems and workflow processes
  • Assisting with communication initiatives, projects and campaigns
  • Coordinating events, bookings and promotional materials
  • Supporting information sharing and engagement activities
  • Processing invoices and monitoring administrative requirements
  • Providing general business support to ensure the smooth operation of the team

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in administration, business support, executive support or team coordination roles
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and Microsoft Forms
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting senior stakeholders
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to work
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
