Hoban Recruitment is partnering with a leading Australian manufacturing business to recruit a Senior Quality Consultant for a newly created 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening quality systems, improving compliance frameworks, and supporting a business undergoing significant transformation.

Based in Carrum Downs , this position offers the opportunity to influence strategic quality outcomes while working closely with senior leadership.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional Quality Assurance role.

You'll be the most senior quality specialist onsite, taking a consultative and advisory approach to reviewing existing systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing sustainable quality and compliance frameworks across the business.

Working alongside an established QA team, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and partner with stakeholders to ensure quality systems meet both customer and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive review and gap analysis of existing quality and compliance systems

  • Assess current processes against future business and regulatory requirements

  • Identify compliance risks and recommend practical improvement strategies

  • Develop and deliver an implementation roadmap for quality system enhancements

  • Lead quality improvement projects over a nine-month implementation period

  • Build, improve and standardise quality management systems, policies and procedures

  • Support customer audits and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance

  • Investigate customer quality concerns and oversee corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)

  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to the Quality team

  • Partner with operational leaders to embed continuous improvement and quality best practice

About You

You are a strategic quality professional who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing stakeholders, and building quality systems that create lasting business improvement.

To be successful, you'll ideally bring:

  • Extensive experience within Quality Assurance, Quality Systems or Compliance

  • Strong knowledge of GMP and quality management systems

  • Proven experience conducting quality gap analyses and implementing improvement programs

  • Experience interpreting quality standards and translating them into practical business processes

  • Strong auditing capability across GMP and/or ISO environments

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Experience working with regulated customers and managing customer audits

  • A tertiary qualification in Science, Quality, Technical or a related discipline

  • Experience using PECS (essential)

Highly regarded:

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience

  • Clean room manufacturing environments

  • Textile, garment or industrial manufacturing experience

  • Experience within highly regulated industries
