Water Treatment Operator
Shape the future of water sustainability with Australia’s environmental leader.

Following our major  ten year contract win with Hunter Water Corporation, Veolia is seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Operator to join our Tomago team. You’ll keep the water flowing safely to over 500,000 people across the Hunter region.
The Opportunity

You’ll work across six different water treatment plants. It’s hands-on technical work with good equipment and proper training.

You’ll be part of our 24/7 operations team, including some on call and weekend shifts.

What you’ll do

Operate drinking water treatment plants safely and efficiently

Monitor water quality parameters 

Collect water samples and conduct laboratory analysis

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues

Ensure compliance with Drinking Water Guidelines

Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records

Respond to water quality incidents following established protocol

Identify and respond to treatment  process control issues (training provided)

What you’ll need

Experience in water treatment operations (preferred)

SCADA system and process control experience (preferred) or strong aptitude for learning technical systems

Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment

Chemical handling and safety knowledge

Willingness to obtain Cert 3 in water industry
