About the role
We are seeking experienced project support professionals at the APS6 level to join our Commonwealth Government client’s team tasked with delivering a new registration and compliance system. The successful candidate will focus on analysing and translating legislative and business requirements into system functionality, supporting testing and implementation, and ensuring the new platform meets the operational needs of the program.
An initial four-month labour hire contract is on offer. This opportunity is open to candidates located across Australia , including those seeking remote or flexible working arrangements.
Please note: the successful candidate must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance.
Duties:
- Support user acceptance testing, including test scenarios and validation against business processes.
- Translate legislative, policy and business needs into system requirements for a new registration platform.
- Ensure system design aligns with the legislative and regulatory intent.
- Develop and maintain requirements, specifications, process maps and guidance.
- Engage stakeholders to gather input and support system design decisions.
- Prepare clear briefs, technical documents, training and change materials.
- Support vendor and contract management activities.
- Maintain project documentation, risks and issues.
- Provide operational input to support end-to-end registration processes.
- Assist with change management, system transition and user onboarding.
Requisite skills/qualifications:
- Understanding of testing processes (eg: UAT), project delivery approaches and system implementation practices.
- Experience supporting ICT system development or transitions, ideally in a government or regulatory environment.
- Ability to interpret legislation or policy and translate it into business processes and system requirements.
- Proven experience converting user and business needs into clear functional or technical specifications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project milestones.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement in complex and changing environments.
Desirable qualifications
- Qualifications in ICT project management, business analysis, public administration, energy policy, or a related discipline.
