Project Manager
Thread Recruitment
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established civil contractor delivering subdivisions, road upgrades, local government infrastructure and environmental projects across Southeast Queensland.
You'll own multiple projects from planning and procurement through to delivery, while managing the commercial performance and client relationships that keep projects moving. Working closely with the Director, you'll have the autonomy to make decisions, solve problems and deliver profitable outcomes, without unnecessary layers or corporate red tape.
If you're looking for a role where your judgement is trusted, your contribution is recognised, and you can genuinely influence the success of the business, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
Delivering multiple civil construction projects safely, on time and within budget.
Managing project profitability through forecasting, cost control, claims and variations.
Procuring subcontractors, suppliers, plant and resources.
Developing project programmes, methodologies and delivery strategies.
Leading Site Supervisors, subcontractors and project teams.
Building trusted relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
Identifying opportunities for additional works and repeat business.
Managing project risks while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and compliance.
Supporting tender reviews, estimating and project planning where required.
Completing project reporting, documentation and close-out.
About You
You're an experienced civil Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership and can back your judgement.
You understand that delivering successful projects isn't just about what's happening on site; it's about making smart commercial decisions, building strong relationships and keeping projects moving from start to finish.
You'll ideally bring:
Proven experience delivering civil construction projects as a Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer or similar.
Strong commercial capability across budgeting, forecasting, claims, variations and cost control.
Experience delivering subdivisions, roadworks, earthworks, civil infrastructure, utilities or comparable projects.
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Confident leadership with Site Supervisors, subcontractors and project teams.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients and stakeholders.
A proactive, accountable approach with the confidence to solve problems and make decisions.
Experience working for a civil contractor delivering projects end-to-end.
Why Join AGS?
This is an opportunity to join a well-established civil contractor with a strong pipeline of work and the stability to build a long-term career. You'll work directly with experienced leadership, have the freedom to make decisions, and be trusted to run your projects from start to finish.
You'll enjoy:
A diverse pipeline of civil projects across Southeast Queensland.
Genuine autonomy and end-to-end ownership of your projects.
Direct access to the Director, without unnecessary layers of management.
The opportunity to influence decisions and make a real impact on the business.
