The opportunity
- Preliminary and detailed structural design for new and existing civil structures
- Analyse simple and sophisticated structures using structural analysis software
- Prepare design drawings, calculation packages, and technical reports
- Review and comment on designs, shop drawings, and technical reports from others
- Learning about the Arup Structural Skills Network
- Learning to navigate through codes and guideline
Base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Montreal is CAD 61, 000 to CAD 70, 500 per year.

Qualification:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural, or structural engineering
- Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design, advanced reinforced concrete design, and civil engineering fundamentals.
- Interest in the design of bridges, non-building structures and infrastructure, underground and offshore structures
- Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
- Interest in sustainable design
- The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment

Preferred:
- Master’s degree in civil engineering or architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Structures
- Eligible to become a member of the PEO or APEGA
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher
- Structural software skills (Midas, SAP / CSi, etc.), and 2D/3D modelling skills (AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, etc.)
- Programming (Python, etc.) and parametric modeling skills (Grasshopper, Dynamo, etc.)
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and/or on technical design projects
- Evidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular field
