Due to our ongoing operations and project requirements, we are seeking an experienced Production Manager (Manufacturing) to oversee and coordinate our factory production activities. About the Role The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing operations of our joinery facility, ensuring production targets, quality standards, project deadlines and workplace safety requirements are consistently achieved. Working closely with management, production staff and installation teams, the successful candidate will coordinate manufacturing resources, monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and workflow across the business. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing and reviewing production plans and operational procedures to support efficient manufacturing activities.
- Coordinating production schedules according to project deadlines, required output, quality expectations, labour availability and production capacity.
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the factory and ensuring machinery, tools and production resources are available and maintained appropriately.
- Monitoring manufacturing output, labour utilisation and production costs, and making operational adjustments where required to improve efficiency and minimise waste.
- Working closely with management and other relevant teams to provide updates on production progress, capacity, delays and operational requirements.
- Coordinating the introduction, installation and integration of new machinery, plant and production equipment where required.
- Reviewing existing production methods and identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, workflow, productivity and product quality.
- Maintaining accurate production documentation, records and operational reports to support management and project requirements.
- Ensuring workplace health and safety procedures are effectively implemented and consistently followed throughout manufacturing operations.
- Leading, coordinating and monitoring factory personnel to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.
- Providing guidance to production staff and supporting effective communication between factory, project and installation teams.
- Monitoring finished products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings and Joinery Lab's quality standards.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience supervising factory production and/or installation teams.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production workflows and quality control procedures.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings and production documentation.
- Previous exposure to CNC machinery and operations is highly regarded, allowing effective technical oversight and quality control across the production floor.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and production priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with management, production and installation teams.
- Strong understanding of, and commitment to, workplace health and safety requirements.
- Willingness and ability to travel interstate when required.
- A current manual driver's licence.
- A valid White Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Full-time, permanent employment.
- Annual salary of $80,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation.
